Francisco Rebelo is a Professor at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Lisbon, where he serves as Director of the ergoUX Lab and Coordinator of the Ergonomics Research Group. He is also a collaborating researcher at the Institute of Interactive Technologies (ITI/LarSyS), University of Lisbon. Professor Rebelo holds an international authority in user-centered design, usability, and user experience, with expertise in applying virtual reality to optimize human-computer interaction design. His research findings have been widely applied in fields such as industrial design, safety warning systems, and emergency evacuation simulation.

He has led numerous research projects funded by the European Union and the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, collaborating with multinational companies such as Embraer, Nokia, and Siemens, demonstrating outstanding interdisciplinary research and practical innovation.
